Tan Uyen is a mountainous district of Lai Chau province in the northwest Vietnam. It covers an area of 903 square kilometres. It is bordered by Sapa town of Lao Cai province to the east, Sin Ho district to the west, Than Uyen district to the south, and Tam Duong district to the north.
