Mu Cang Chai is a mountainous district of Yen Bai province in northwest Vietnam. The rice terrace fields in La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and Ze Xu Phinh have been recognized as national landscapes by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
