The elegant, muscular exterior and well-equipped interior are designed with uncompromising quality, but they aren’t designed to draw attention for attention’s sake. Every curve, every line, every intuitive and innovative piece of technology is there to do its job quietly and efficiently; delivering a rewarding driving experience. The fact that the Mondeo drivers love it is reward enough for us. And it continues to effortlessly rise above the competition, winning Best Family Car and Best Estate Car for the second year running at the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year 2009 awards.
The Toyota Camry is a mid-size car, formerly a compact car manufactured by Toyota since 1980. The name “Camry” is an Anglicized phonetic transcription of the Japanese word kanmuri (冠, かんむり), meaning “crown”. This follows Toyota’s naming tradition of using the crown name for primary models starting with the Toyota Crown in 1955, continuing with the Toyota Corona and Corolla; the Latin words for “crown” and “small crown”, respectively. Incidentally, “Camry” is also an anagram for “my car”.
